grieving
Last night Nada Balius passed away. She became suddenly ill. She was rushed to the hospital. She did not survive.
Nada was one of the bright, shining spots. She laughed. She challenged. She loved. And some of what made that special was she lived with diabetes. Her health needed a lot of care. She gave no indication that she was going to let it run her life.
I am really going to miss Nada. When someone stands out as she did, there isn't someone else to fill the spot.
She wanted to be cremated. She didn't wanted people to look at her after she died. She wanted to be remembered for how she lived.
How do you say good-bye? There wasn't really any time. The last time I saw her was the day before yesterday. She had on a jacket that had holes. I brought it to her attention. She laughed about how artistic the moths were. Then she buzzed off to some place else.
A memorial service is planned for the week of June 3. Day and time will be decided later. By then, it will be a time to give thanks to God for a wonderful woman and for a woman who brought wonder.
Thanks, Nada.
