Appreciation

I have always enjoyed teaching. There is a lot of preparation and there is creative reflection to figure out what might help the group learn, be challenged, and to engage in open conversation. The preparation is a lot of work but the opportunity to teach is fun.
I appreciate all the people who have been, officially and unofficially, my teachers. I am a better person because of all of them. From some I learned because of their passion, from others because of their depth of knowledge, others because of their love, and still others because of their high integrity.
This Sunday we recognize the people in our congregation who have been involved in our teaching ministry. These are teachers of young and old; leaders among adults; people involved in faith formation; mentors, administrators, and planners. Thank you all of you! Your work to prepare is only exceeded by the work that God is doing to use what you offer to form faith in the life of another person. Thank you!
